onderwerpen:
thema:

samenvatting: This is the first attempt by a LGBTI organization to better understand the composition and demographic of sexual minority population in Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Nigeria. From late January to late June 2011, in conjunction with Women's Health and Equal Rights (WHER), Queer Alliance Nigeria, Humanity First Cameroon and QAYN branch in Burkina Faso, the network administered an anonymous and informal survey questionnaire using several communication channels: over the phone, via cellular messaging and in-person interviews in public locations favorite by the key population. Of the 1,300-survey questionnaire distributed, 1,137 data were fully completed and met the basic requirements of the research. Of the 1,137 people surveyed, 2 people reside in North Africa (Libya and Morocco); 379 reside in Nigeria; 160 reside in Cameroon and 569 people reside in Burkina Faso. There are 447 selfidentified females and 690 self-identified males. The 2 respondents from North Africa were surveyed in Burkina Faso, which has become over the past two decades, an important center for higher education in West Africa with its great numbers of private universities.

Gender, Sexuality and Communications : Towards Strengthening the Leadership of Queer, Young Women in Francophone West Africa  / Mariam Armisen.

Queer African Youth Networking Centre (QAYN) (2012) (oct)
bron: Queer African Youth Networking Centre (QAYN) (2012) (oct)
samenvatting: The Activist School on Gender, Sexuality and Communication: towards Strengthening the Leadership of Queer, Young Women in Francophone West Africa took place in Burkina Faso from 24 to 28 September 2012. This training was a collaboration between the Queer African Youth Networking Centre (QAYN) and Isis International. This project, the first of its kind in the sub-region brought together eight queer, young activists from Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, and Senegal. The workshop was led by two facilitators, Lalen Vela from Isis International and Mariam Armisen of QAYN. A rapporteur from Ouagadougou documented the five days training. The overall goal of the training was to deepen individual and organizational agency. The theoretical part of the training used a participatory approach to promote collective work and team spirit. Each day of training had a particular but interlinked theme: day one began with a feminist critical analysis of oppression with a focus on the body, gender, sexuality and power; day two focused on deepening participants knowledge and skills in movement building; the third day focused on organizational development based on feminist leadership principles and the use of media and communications strategies and tools for social change; the fourth day supported capacity development with a focus on personal safety and well-being of the activists and the fifth was dedicated to the development of a collective action plan.

Cartographie du mouvement de justice sociale en Afrique de l'Oust Francophone et au Cameroun : Revendications et perceptions sur la question LGBTQ

Ouagadougou: Queer African Youth Networking Center (QAYN), 2014 - 28 p.
uitgave: Ouagadougou : Queer African Youth Networking Center (QAYN), 2014 - 28 p.
onderwerpen:
thema:
  1. rechtspositie
  2. homoseksualiteit
